Little Shop of Horrors (2023) Programme Cover

Audrey 2 illustration: April Nash

Brief: To create an A4 show programme for Little Shop of Horrors that would detail information about the company, the show's setting, biographies and photography of the cast and production teams, as well as advertisements.
Collating information from the cast and company to be included and presented to the audience within the show's programme. Using strict deadlines to recieve copy and to get to press.
When designing programmes for shows, I use my skills as an editorial designer to find the best practice to present the content and still make the programme a fun and connected piece to the show, and all other promotional material already created so that consistency continues throughout the design.
I paginated the programme, for this particular project, giving the client two options of page counts to allow them to decide upon the cost of printing the finished programme.
The neon lights I used throughout the programme, using as a framing tool for the cast and production team's headshots, as well as labelling the pages for audience navigation.
Fonts and colour schemes are also kept throughout the programme to keep consistency with the cover and poster.

Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass (2022)

The Brief:
To create the show programme for Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, keeping the consistency of style and colour schemes throughout, and the dark vision of the director. A cast of 30 young people to fit across three A4 pages was a challenge for this project as each cast member had different lengths of biography to be included. A challenge met with brainstorming different variations of layouts to best suit the content.
Cut outs were used to remove the headshots backgrounds so that all were consistent throughout the programme. Colour corrections were also made to the photos to give each person more vibrancy in their headshots.

A Chorus Line Call Sheet (2022)

The Brief:
The client decided against a traditional programme for this production, keeping down costs and waste of excess programmes not sold. Instead they asked for a 'Call Sheet', keeping in theme with the subject matter of the production. Styling the programme as a one sheet of A4 paper, to mimic the 'call back sheet' used in professional theatres.
Research, and with collaboration with the client, the document was created. The fonts used were chosen from the logo font, and the secondary font that would also reflect the decade in which the show was set - pre home word processing.
Spacing was a factor with this project, a lot of information to fit in with not a lot of space to use, whilst ensuring to stay within the safety parameters of printing.
